Mobile exhibition and presentation at Dartington Music Summer School

A mobile version of the recent Music, Migration and Mobility Exhibition has been created and is now on show at the Dartington Music Summer School (in the East Wing Lounge of Dartington Hall) in Totnes, Devon. The exhibition includes two special panels about Dartington and introduces a digital database about the early years of the Summer School created by our project team. Based on Jeremy Wilson's archive in the British Library, the database allows users to search performers/teachers by name and concert repertoire by composer. It makes evident why the Summer School has been called the most exciting and imaginative music education institution to emerge in post-war Britain. You are warmly invited to explore the database here.

On Tuesday, August 15 at 5pm, MMM team members Alison Garnham, Norbert Meyn and Sam Weinstein will give a presentation at the Summer School and discuss the role of emigre musicians from Nazi Europe in its history. Tickets (£5) can be booked here.

The exhibition, in the East Wing Lounge, can be viewed until Thursday August 17.

Two additional panels in the exhibition are dedicated to the history of the Dartington Music Summer School.
