Exploring the lives of Arnold and Alma Rosé at the Austrian Cultural Forum

Our project partner, the Austrian Cultural Forum London, presents a special virtual evening exploring the lives of Austrian musicians Arnold and Alma Rosé to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January. The famous violinist Arnold Rosé, leader of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for over 50 years, spent the last years of his life in Britain as a refugee from Nazi-persecution. His daughter Alma directed an orchestra of female musicians in Auschwitz and perished there in 1944.

The session will be moderated by our project's research associate, Beth Snyder. Join us for an insightful conversation between Holocaust survivor and cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, the director of the House of Austrian History Monika Sommer, and historians Heidemarie Uhl and Michaela Raggam-Blesch.

The event will take place on Zoom.

Please register at acflondon.org to receive a Zoom invitation with further instructions on how to join on the day of the event.
